Bruce Friedman (trumpet) and Jeff Schwartz (bass) have released a series of duo improvisations recorded in March and April of 2009. Improvised Duets is a collection of robust and engaging free improvisations that, even while seeming to take dramatic and unpredictable turns, portrays a sense of familiarity with a comfortable interplay that speaks to Friedman and Schwartz's long history as collaborators in the Los Angeles avant-garde community.
